Challenge:

When onboarding new employees who are Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (HOH) it is important to set existing teams up for success in collaboration and communication with their new team member. The challenge is to decide what steps can be taken immediately and overtime to increase inclusivity within a working team.

Solution:

This course is designed to increase learner awareness around the Deaf/HOH community and provide manageable steps to taken to increase access for new team members in both one-on-one and group settings.

Result:

This course guides the learner through understanding who comprises the Deaf/HOH community and what preferences for communication can be established in a team to increase access and inclusivity. Not only does this course include regular checks for understanding and application, it also uses scenario-based testing as well to choose the best communication tools available to the user.
